Fun Field

The fun field is a non-judged car/truck show area.  You can park your car next to your friends and fellow club members.  Fun field can be a one day or weekend pass.  Please note that pre-registered vehicles get a free passenger ticket, so be SURE to pre-register.

Fun Field trophies:

Ladies Choice – Trophies Saturday and Sunday. Car/Truck must be owned and registered to a woman.  You should receive a special placard for your car so we know where to find you!

 Popular Choice – All entrants will receive a ballot to vote for there top three choices.  Three trophies will be awarded each day.

 Editors Choice – By Mopar Collectors Guide, Mopar Action and Galen Govier.

 Long Distance Award – Presented by Penstar Reproductions.  All show participants eligible.

*Mopar Action Street Car Shootout*

 This will be a selected 6-8 car field of street legal cars.  Your reward is guaranteed pictures in Mopar Action magazine.  Your car must be registered and street legal, which means full interiors, footbrakes, mufflers and street tires.  TWO PHOTOS must accompany your PRE-REGISTRATION (one full body shot and one engine shot.).   You may also run in Sportsman or Nostalgia Muscle Car races.  Be aware that you must meet NHRA safety requirements for the ET of your car.  We will run three passes for low ET on Saturday then shootout the cars in NHRA Sportsman Ladder on Sunday.  Judging will be based solely on the decision of Mopar Action staff.

Judging

 Judged Car/Trucks - Judging will be based on a point subtraction system.  That means your car receives all points in a category, and the judges subtract points as they view your vehicle.  Judges work in pairs.  Judges are not members of any local clubs and are from a nationwide pool that judge at both Mopars at the Strip and the Mopar Nationals.  Cars do need to be present both days for judging and parked in assigned categories from 10am-3pm. Please note that pre-registered vehicles get a free passenger ticket, so be SURE to pre-register.  You need to have your windows down, your hood open and your trunk open for judging.  It will not be required to start your car for the judges, unless you are a best of show candidate.  The judges may open or close your doors.  If you also race your judged car, please inform the car show director on Saturday to be sure your car is judged.  Best of show candidates will be informed upon being considered and be allowed to move to a special display area on Sunday morning.  Top three trophies awarded in each class with best of show on Sunday.  Best of show must be present.

Stock –Vehicle options are those available in the model year of your vehicle.  So your car may be a clone.  No points will be lost for safety modifications of brakes and seatbelts.  Up to five bolt on modifications will be accepted for this class.  Each car will be judged individually but close competition will be decided by a review of the entire class, with emphasis on original presentation.

*NEW* Originals – This class is reserved for matching numbers cars only.  Car must be pre-1975.  Cars may be restored or survivor.  Cars will be judged on their own merit with emphasis on numbers matching qualities.  THIS CLASS REQUIRES PRE-REGISTRATION.  Galen Govier will be one of the judges.

Modified – Vehicle has been altered from original appearance.  We realize this category covers a broad range of vehicles including custom paint and design and pro-street.  Points in this category will be awarded for your total package, what were you trying to accomplish and how difficult was this to do.  You may choose to provide a list of modifications for the judges to help them see the car as you do.  We will begin by judging cars individually, but close competition will be decided by a review of the entire class.

What is Kemah Boardwalk?  FUN FOR EVERYONE.  Kemah boardwalk is a combination of great restaurants, rides for the kids and a little shopping for mom.  It is a great cruise down to the bay just 15 minutes from the track.
