MOPAR LONE STAR SHOOTOUT RACING

         Two Full days of racing for TWICE the fun!!

 

First we want to say thank you for al the racers who came to our inaugural event.  We enjoyed every moment.  This year we want to have more fun, so we plan for two full days of bracket racing.  On Saturday we will have MOPAR power only vehicles including Vipers and the new Slant Six class.  On Sunday we are going to run a “Mopars vs. the World” program  to include all makes.  We hope you enjoy this new program.  If you are running a NSS/HEMI car please call us as we are setting up HEMI match races!!!

Rules and Guidelines

 

  1. All cars must meet NHRA safety criteria. (11.49 and faster require roll bar. 9.99 and faster requires NHRA license.

  1. Races will run on a 0.5 second full tree, NHRA Sportsman ladder, cross talk on for Quick 16, Super Pro & Pro Classes.

  1. All races – 32 car minimum or buy backs will be optional and payouts may be adjusted.

  2. Two time trials for each class, third time trial time permitting.  For Sunday racers one time trial will be run on Sunday morning. First round buy backs, Super Pro, Pro and Sportsman.

  1. We are running two full days of racing, please be prepared for "round robin" racing in later rounds.You may race in more then one class, however, it is your responsibility to communicate with the racing director and be ready to run as classes are called.

     

    Class Parameters

     Indy Cylinder Head Quick 16 - 8.99 and faster - Electronics are permitted; cars must run faster then 8.99.

    Cars cannot dial outside of class parameters or dial less than 0.2 tenths off their qualifying time.  Lane choice to low qualifier. After three passes non-qualifiers will bump back to Super Pro.  We will expand car field with a $1000 addition to winner payout if we register 32 cars. 

     

    Nitrous Express Super Pro – 7.00 to 11.99  Electronics and open wheel cars are permitted.  NHRA license for 9.99 and faster.

     

    Mopars by Crane Pro – 8.50 and slower   Trans-brakes are permitted. NO DELAY BOXES or advanced electronics. 

     

    Cruise Night Creations Sportsman – 12.00 to 19.99  FWD & RWD, footbrake class, DOT street tires only.

     

    All Truck Class – Run what you brung.  Must meet safety requirements for E.T. of vehicle.

    Extreme Sportswear Viper Class – All Vipers welcome.  Meet safety criteria for E.T. of vehicle.

    Nostalgia Super Stock – Index Class  All makes permitted in this class.  ALL ELIGIBLE CARS ARE WELCOME. For Texas Outsiders this will be a double point’s race and the season finale!  You must sign in with Texas Outsiders at the track (membership not necessary). Technical assistance can be obtained from the Texas Outsiders website at www.texasoutsiders.com.  A valid elapsed time must be recorded to be placed in eliminator competition.  Trans-brakes are not permitted to be used, but do not need to be removed from the vehicle.  HEMI cars are eligible for this class but are limited to 11.5” tires.

    Nostalgia Muscle Car – Index Style foot brake only class.  All makes will be permitted in this class.  ALL ELIGIBLE CARS ARE WELCOME.  For Texas Outsiders this will be a double point’s race and the season finale!  You must sign in with Texas Outsiders at the track (membership not necessary). Technical assistance can be obtained from the Texas Outsiders website at www.texasoutsiders.com.  A valid elapsed time must be recorded to be placed in eliminator competition.

    Slant Six – Six cylinder power, anything goesMeet safety criteria for E.T. of vehicle.

 

TRACK FACTS

The Park is situated on 440 acres, with an additional 400 acres of land reserved for future expansion. The three story tower building incorporates 23 VIP suites, media center and race control facilities equipped with state-of-the-art timing and scoring equipment.

Houston Raceway Park's spacious, paved pit area holds approximately 400 racing rigs, with additional pit parking available on grass. The spectator parking lots have a capacity of over 10,000 cars, along with a special VIP parking area capable of holding an additional 600 vehicles.

The Park has a seating capacity of 23,000, with additional grandstand seating brought in during major events to accommodate reserved seat requests. HRP has modern, permanent rest room facilities and concession buildings, conveniently located near spectator seating on both sides of the race track.

Houston Raceway Park enjoys an exclusive contract with the National Hot Rod Association to host a Winston Drag Racing Series national event within a 200 mile radius of the Houston metropolitan area. The track's ownership is comprised of two families - the Angel Brothers of Baytown, Texas, and the Gay family of Dickinson, Texas. Both families, as well as the entire track staff, have an extensive background in motor sports and an unwavering commitment toward maintaining the highest standards of Texas pride and professionalism in all areas of track operations and event production.
